LONDON, Ont. — Officers with a college in southwestern Ontario say they’ve elevated safety on campus and in scholar residences following experiences of sexual violence.
Western College in London, Ont., has not offered particulars of the alleged incidents, however mentioned it’s “investigating experiences from this weekend.”
An announcement from Chris Alleyne, affiliate vice-president of housing and ancillary companies, notes that the college won’t tolerate sexual violence.
Alleyne says that whereas an investigation is underway, these dealing with complaints are “sanctioned, which may embody elimination from campus.”
He says the college has not obtained any formal complaints from alleged victims.
A spokeswoman for the London Police Service says officers haven’t been notified of the allegations, so they don’t seem to be at the moment investigating.
Final week was Orientation Week on the college.
