This is the second shooting that Peel police have rushed to since late on Wednesday afternoon.

The initial report was made about 3½ hours after reports about a double shooting in Brampton where a man died.

Around 5:35 p.m., a man was pronounced dead and a woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries after an attack at a home in the area of Airport Road and Countryside Drive.

There was no indication from police about whether the attacks are related in any way.

The Peel police are asking with surveillance footage that might assist the investigation of the earlier shooting in Brampton to contact them at 905-453-3311.

In such circumstances, it is commonplace for the Peel police to advise motorists to avoid the area.

Information that might be helpful to any Peel police investigation can be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-TIPS by phone, or online at peelcrimestoppers.ca).
