DAILY UPDATE: 35 COVID-19 instances reported at 24 Catholic colleges in Mississauga and Brampton

DAILY UPDATE: More COVID-19 cases, fewer classes closed at Brampton, Mississauga public schools Sept. 23

The variety of reported instances of COVID-19 amongst college students and workers at Catholic colleges in Mississauga and Brampton is considerably down from one week in the past.  

The most recent numbers from the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District College Board present that 24 colleges (15 elementary, 9 secondary) are reporting ongoing instances of the virus as of at this time (Oct. 12).  

That’s down from 35 colleges at the moment final week, statistics present. 

Dufferin-Peel colleges are reporting 32 energetic pupil instances (in comparison with 42 one week in the past) and three energetic workers instances (two instances every week in the past), along with 38 closed school rooms (39 one week in the past). 

A closed classroom means the kids from that class are despatched house to study remotely throughout a quarantine interval of a minimum of 10 days. 

Additionally, there’s one confirmed case on the Board’s head workplaces on Matheson Blvd.

Elementary 

Bishop Francis Allen: 3 college students, 2 closed school rooms 

Bishop Scalabrini: 2 college students, 1 workers, 7 closed school rooms

St. Francis of Assisi: 1 pupil 

St. Herbert: 2 college students, 2 closed school rooms

St. Julia: 1 pupil, 1 closed classroom 

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys: 1 pupil, 1 closed classroom 

St. Mark: 3 college students, 1 closed classroom 

St. Raphael: 1 pupil 

St. Rose of Lima: 1 pupil, 1 closed classroom 

St. Ursula: 1 pupil, 1 closed classroom 

St. Valentine: 2 college students, 2 closed school rooms 

Blessed Michael J. McGivney: 1 workers, 1 closed classroom  

 

Secondary 

Cardinal Leger: 1 pupil, 2 closed school rooms 

Iona: 1 closed classroom 

Loyola: 1 pupil, 2 closed school rooms 

Notre Dame: 1 pupil, 2 closed school rooms 

Philip Pocock: 1 pupil, 2 closed school rooms 

St. Augustine: 1 pupil 

St. Joan of Arc: 1 possible constructive, 2 closed school rooms 

St. Joseph: 1 pupil 

St. Roch: 1 pupil, 1 possible constructive, 4 closed school rooms
